An ivy house,
and a valley
to itself
Villa Podernovo · Siena, Tuscany
June, and a stone farmhouse under so much ivy that the windows look cut into a hedge. A short dress, black tie, a ceremony under one tree, a long table in the courtyard, and a pool that nobody used until the light had gone.

What green
does to
white
A house covered in ivy is a green wall three storeys high, and a white dress in front of it separates the way nothing else on this site does. No arrangement is needed: stand a person there and the photograph is already made.
The rest of the day was built the same way — one tree for the ceremony, one table for dinner, one pool for the end of it. A small wedding is not a lesser one; it is one that knows what it is doing.
