Privacy

What this site
does with
your data.

Very little, and all of it is listed below. There is no analytics on this website, no advertising pixel, no tracking of any kind, and no data is sold or shared for marketing. If you never write to me, this site learns nothing about you beyond what your browser tells every server it speaks to.

Who is responsible

This site is run by Stefano Casati, a wedding photographer working from California, United States. Questions about this notice, or a request to see, correct or delete what is held about you, go to info@stefanocasati.com, which I read myself.

Nothing is sold here

Nothing is bought or sold on this website. There is no shop, no checkout, no payment form and no way to enter card details. No booking is confirmed and no contract is concluded here. A commission begins with an enquiry, continues as a conversation, and is agreed in a separate written contract signed away from this site.

What is collected, and when

Nothing at all unless you send it. There is one place on this site where you can give me information, and that is the enquiry form.

When you submit it, the form sends me what you typed: your names, your email address, and whichever of the optional fields you filled in — your wedding date, the venue, how you found me, and your message. It also records the page you sent it from and the time you sent it.

Two invisible fields travel with it. One is a decoy field that a person never sees and a robot fills in; the other is the moment the page loaded. Both exist to tell a human submission from an automated one, and neither says anything about you.

Why, and on what legal basis

To answer you. That is the whole purpose.

  • To reply to your enquiry and, if we go further, to prepare and perform a contract — Article 6(1)(b).
  • To keep the form usable by filtering automated submissions, which is my legitimate interest in not drowning in spam — Article 6(1)(f).
  • To keep records that tax or accounting law requires me to keep once you become a client — Article 6(1)(c).

I do not send marketing email. There is no newsletter on this site, and writing to me does not add you to a list.

Where it goes

Your message is emailed to my own mailbox and a short confirmation is emailed back to you. Nothing about your enquiry is stored in a database on this website in the ordinary course; if the mail server refuses the message, a copy is written to the site’s own records so that your enquiry is not lost, and it is removed once I have read it.

The people who necessarily see it along the way are my web host and my email provider, in the same way that a letter is seen by the post office. They act on my instructions and are not free to use your data for their own purposes.

How long it is kept

An enquiry that does not become a booking is kept for as long as it is plausibly still a conversation, and then deleted. If you ask me to delete it sooner, I will.

If you become a client, the contract, the invoices and the accounting records are kept for as long as Italian law requires. Your photographs are a separate matter and are covered by your contract, not by this page.

Cookies and similar technologies

This site sets no analytics cookies and no advertising cookies. It does not load fonts, scripts or images from third-party servers on page load, so nothing is quietly told that you were here.

Nothing at all is stored in your browser by this site. There is no preference to remember, no basket, no session and no identifier, so closing the tab leaves nothing behind.

The film on this site is a photograph with a play button on it. Nothing is requested from YouTube until you press it; if you do, YouTube’s own privacy terms apply from that moment.

If analytics, advertising or remarketing are ever added to this site, this section stops being true and a consent banner becomes necessary. Nothing of the sort is installed today.

Links that leave this site

The presets are sold through Payhip, the film channel is on YouTube, and the social links go where they say they go. Once you follow one of those links you are on somebody else’s site under somebody else’s privacy policy, and I have no control over what they do.

The categories, listed plainly

California law asks a site to list the categories of personally identifiable information it collects and the categories of third party it may be shared with. For this site both lists are short.

Collected: your name; your email address; and whatever you choose to write in the message — typically a date, a place, and something about the celebration. The landing pages ask the same things in slightly different words. Nothing else is collected: no account, no profile, no location, no behaviour.

Shared with: the mail provider that carries the message from the website to the mailbox, and the hosting company whose server the website runs on. Nobody else. Nothing is sold, rented, traded or given to an advertiser, and there is no advertising on this site to give it to.

How to see, correct or delete it: write to info@stefanocasati.com and say which. There is no form and no account. This is set out again under Your rights below.

How changes are communicated: the date at the top of this page changes whenever the notice does, and the previous version is replaced rather than kept alongside. A change that materially affects what is collected or where it goes will be described in the section it affects, not buried in a version number. This version is effective from August 2026.

Do Not Track and other tracking signals

Some browsers can send a Do Not Track signal. This site does not track you in the first place — there is no analytics, no advertising pixel and no third-party script that would receive such a signal — so there is nothing here for it to change. If analytics or advertising is ever added, this section will say what the site does with the signal, and the section above about cookies will change with it.

This section is here because California law asks a site to say plainly how it answers that signal, and “we do not respond to it” is not the same answer as “there is nothing to respond to”.

Your rights, and how to use them

Whatever you are told about your rights, the practical answer here is the same one: write to info@stefanocasati.com and say what you want. There is no form, no charge and no account to log into. I will answer you myself.

You can ask for a copy of what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, and ask for it to be deleted. If you have written to me through the form, what is held is your message and the address you sent it from, and deleting it takes a minute.

This is offered to anyone who asks, wherever they are, rather than because a particular statute compels it. Requests are honoured subject to anything I am legally required to keep — an invoice has to be retained for the period the tax rules set, whatever anyone would prefer.

Where a privacy law applies to your request — the GDPR in the European Union, the UK GDPR, or another regime in the place you live — it may give you further rights, such as restricting or objecting to processing, receiving your data in a portable form, or complaining to a supervisory authority. Which of those apply depends on the law in question and on the circumstances; none of them is claimed here as automatically applying to this site.

Children

This site is not directed at children and I do not knowingly collect anything from them. Photographs taken at a wedding, including of guests who are children, are governed by the contract with the couple and by the permission of the people in them.

Changes to this notice

If this changes, the date at the top changes with it. This version is from August 2026.
