Black and white,
and a lake
underneath
Relais Villa Vittoria · Laglio, Lake Como
Two days at Laglio in June. A welcome dinner the evening before that began on a wooden boat in the middle of the lake and ended at a long table in white and red, and then the wedding itself: a round arch of white flowers on the terrace, with the water six metres below it and the mountains behind.

Two days,

The night before was not a rehearsal. It was a boat, a dress code of white and red, a gingham table and a lot of aperol — and by the time the wedding day started nobody was meeting anybody for the first time, least of all me.
That is the argument for a two-day wedding on this lake, and it is the reason the pictures from the second day look the way they do. The camera had stopped being a stranger about eighteen hours earlier.
