An elopement at the Caruso, in Ravello, for nine people. A ceremony on the belvedere with the whole coast behind it, dinner inside, and a second evening spent walking down through Amalfi and back up again — once in a white dinner jacket, once in a red áo dài.

you
A wedding of nine is not a small version of a wedding of a hundred. Nobody is being managed. There is no line to receive, no seating plan to solve, and the afternoon can change its mind twice without anybody having to be told.
What it buys you is distance. We walked to Villa Cimbrone and back, went down to Amalfi at six and came up in the dark, and the pictures that came out of it are the ones a timetable would have made impossible.
