They asked not to
use the whole hour
Relais Villa Vittoria · Laglio, Lake Como
They had booked a boat for the hour after the ceremony, and then wrote to say they did not want to be away from their guests for that long — the hour did not need to be used. We took less than half of it. Almost nobody asks for that, and it tells you what kind of wedding this was.

First her
mother.
Then him.
Two first looks, an hour apart

I've seen at friends' weddings how the vibe between the photography team and the couple can affect the big moments. Stefano only made ours more special.

The third
time at
this villa
Relais Villa Vittoria sits directly on the water at Laglio. This is the third wedding I have photographed there and the fourth time I have worked in the building, which is worth saying plainly: I know where the light is at five o’clock, which room takes everybody when it rains, and how long the walk down to the jetty actually takes.
That is most of what a couple is buying when they hire someone who already knows the venue. Nobody has to find anything out on the day.
More on Lake Como

I hadn't realized a guitar pick from my father's funeral had spilled out of one of the purses I packed, and Stefano had the notion to include it in our flatlay.
